Match report

On the 17th October 13 girls had been selected to represent the district against Bexley. When we arrived at Bexley’s ground the weather was fine and dry. This was our 3rd match of the season, we had started the season with a win against Thanet, but had lost our last match against West Kent 0-3, so we were determined to win. This was our first match in our new kit ,which we had been given.

We kicked off in the first half going up hill, to start with, it was quite even. With Bexley’s first significant attack they scored and we were 0-1 down. This seemed to wake the team up as we then started to win the ball in midfield and our passing improved. We passed the ball through midfield as the ball made its way to our striker Amelia, who shot fiercely and with a deflection we were level. Shortly after afterwards, she got another from close range. We were now beginning to dominate Bexley and before half time the ball was played from the defence to Amelia, who was at the edge of the box and fiercely shot into the top right corner. Then the half time whistle blew we were 3-1 up.

In the second half substitutions were made and we had the advantage of going downhill. During the second half Bexley became tired with only one sub and we added another goal by Isla who was in the penalty box and slotted it into the corner. Hallie who came on as a sub played really well and scored the 5th and 6th goals. The last goal was scored by Darcie who was at the edge of the box as she lobbed the goalkeeper resulting in a 7-1 win for us.

Everyone played really well, the defence and midfield were solid not letting Bexley get through to have too many shots on goal. We are now looking forward to our next match against Croydon on the 7th of November after the half term.
